How Do I Get More Clients

(Without Selling Your Soul or Staring at a Blank Calendar)

If you’ve ever muttered “how the heck do I get more clients?” while standing in front of your coffee maker (or altar, or stack of sticky notes), then this post is for you.

This is the wisdom I shared during the May 2nd OPEN Friday Coffee, and let me tell you—this one was like espresso for your business systems.

Real Talk:

You’re Not in Business Until Money Changes Hands

As I like to say in Missouri: “Cash on the barrelhead.”

You’re not running a business if no one’s paying you.

So if you’ve got a beautiful website, a gorgeous PDF, and a prayer candle… but no income?

This is your wake-up call (with love).

The “Critical 4” Hours That Actually Bring in Clients

Every week, without fail, you need to be doing your income-producing activities (IPAs):

  1. 1 hour prospecting – Call people. Email people. Talk to humans.

  2. 1 hour follow-up – Yes, again. People need reminders.

  3. 1 hour networking – Join a group. Stay active.

  4. 1 hour training – Learn a skill. Don’t get stuck in 2013 tech.

Don’t like sales?

Too bad, sweet pea.

You’re in business.

Sales is service.

And if people don’t know how to pay you… they won’t.

Solve One Problem. Just One.

Entrepreneurs are idea factories.

But the more you “verbal vomit” your buffet of services, the more you confuse people.

And a confused client doesn’t buy.

So ask yourself: What is the one problem I solve?

Then say it.

Everywhere.

Over and over.

Until you can say it in your sleep.

Build Your Master Contact Sheet (Your Goldmine)

Here’s your step-by-step:

  • Download your contacts from your phone

  • Then Facebook, LinkedIn, Alignable—wherever your people are

  • Consolidate them into a master spreadsheet

  • Sort through them and reconnect with folks you haven’t spoken to in a while

Then?

You call them.

Like with a phone.

With your voice.

I know, I know. But trust me. People love it.

And that’s how we bring them back into the fold.

Bonus Resources I Mentioned:

What Happens Now?

Your next move is to:

  • Watch the replay of this session (video above!)

  • Build your master contact list

  • Pick up the phone and start scheduling 1:1 calls

  • Stop waiting. Start solving.
