What are you carrying

People rarely arrive at Open Friday Coffee empty-handed.

They may not be carrying a visible suitcase, but they are usually carrying something.

Some people are carrying a fear of money. They are tired of feeling behind, frightened, or confused every time they look at a bank balance.

Some have stopped trusting themselves. They have dipped their bucket into the well more than once and come up empty. Now, even when their inner voice speaks clearly, they hesitate.

Others are carrying gifts they have not yet shared. There is a book, business, photograph, class, invention, or message inside them, but life keeps finding creative ways to leave it unopened.

And some people are trying to sustain a life or business that has simply become too heavy. What once worked no longer works, and they feel as though they have been dropped right back at the starting line.

This is why Open Friday Coffee is the front porch.

You do not have to arrive with a polished explanation, a twelve-point plan, or a color-coded spreadsheet. You can sit down, catch your breath, and tell us what is happening.

From that porch, four paths have emerged.

One path leads toward financial freedom.

One path leads toward learning to trust yourself.

One path leads toward sharing your gifts with the world.

One path leads toward stewarding a meaningful life and business.

You may recognize yourself immediately. You may recognize yourself in all four, which is inconvenient but very human.

The goal is not to solve your entire life before next Tuesday.

The goal is to notice what you are carrying and decide which path deserves your attention now.

Thirty days is often enough.

Not enough to rebuild every part of your world, perhaps, but enough to take one burden out of the suitcase, place it on the table, and begin working with it.

So, as you look toward the next 30 days, ask yourself:

What am I carrying—and which path is calling me forward?
