I’m Janine!
For more than ten years, every November, I’ve joined writers around the world for a joyful act of creative chaos called NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month.)
Each year, thousands of us would open our laptops, pour a cup of courage (and coffee), and try to write 50,000 words in 30 days.
That crazy, beautiful challenge changed my life. It’s how many of my books were born (I’ve written and published over 22 now), and how I met lifelong friends who reminded me that writing isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up.
When NaNoWriMo officially closed its doors in April of 2025, I felt both heartbroken and inspired.
Because the spirit of NaNoWriMo -> the laughter, the community, the “let’s just write and see what happens” energy was what I missed most!
So this November, I’m inviting you to keep that flame alive with me.
Welcome to WriMo 2026
For 30 days, we’ll gather online to write, laugh, and rediscover the joy of creativity together.
Just a community of kind, slightly caffeinated humans writing side by side (on Zoom!)
Here’s what you’ll get when you join:
☕ Daily Write-Ins – Every morning at 6 a.m. (Mountain) / 5 a.m. (Pacific) on Zoom (We will have other times as soon as I get writers to volunteer to lead them, hint, hint!)
📬 Prep-tober Emails – Gentle guidance to help you prepare for November’s adventure
🎥 30 Days of Writing Prompts – Short, playful writing prompts and videos to keep your words flowing (I did this for our NaNo crowd for 5 years!)
💬 Community Space – A place to share progress, celebrate milestones, and connect
It’s completely free.

Why I Do This
Because NaNoWriMo taught me how to be a professional author.
Because creativity heals and so does a community of this kind.
